AC Transit 800 and 801 Daylight Savings Change

Posted on February 28, 2015 at 1:35 PM

Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday, March 8, at 2:00 a.m. At that time, clocks in California will move forward one hour. But some AC Transit lines, including lines 800 and 801, will continue to operate on Standard Time until the end of their service day. Since the times for these lines are not identical every hour, there will be some differences from the regular schedule.

On Sunday, March 8, the following changes from the regular schedule will be made. All times are a.m. and given in official time (standard time before 2:00 a.m., daylight time after 3:00 a.m.). There will be no Line 800 trip leaving 24th Street and Mission Street at 3:21 a.m. Instead, trips will leave 24th Street at Mission Street at 3:11 and 3:31. There will be no Line 801 trip leaving Bay Fair BART for downtown Oakland at 3:17. Instead, Line 801 trips will leave at 3:07 (continuing from Fremont BART) and 3:27. Line 801 heading south toward Fremont BART will have minor changes in Oakland and San Leandro, but more significant changes south of Bay Fair BART.

For passengers traveling only between downtown Oakland and Bay Fair BART should know that leaving downtown Oakland, there will be no Line 801 trip leaving at 4:11. Instead, Line 801 trips will leave at 4:01 and 4:21. For passengers traveling south of Bay Fair BART should know that most buses will appear to operate off their regular schedule. Trips continuing to Fremont BART will leave downtown Oakland at 12:41, 1:01, 1:41, 3:21, 4:01, 4:41, 5:41, and 7:11. These trips will arrive at Bay Fair BART at 1:24, 1:44, 3:24, 4:04, 4:44, 5:24, 6:24, and 7:54 before continuing to Fremont BART.
